Civil Aviation Authority closes travel agencies selling fake tickets
SANA'A, Sep. 26 (Saba) - The Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority on Sunday closed three travel agencies, selling fake tickets and not adhering to the conditions for selling tickets.
The Director General of Air Transport of the Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority, Dr. Mazen Ghanem, explained in a statement to SABA the Authority closed those agencies after receiving complaints from citizens of fraudulent sale of fictitious tickets.
He pointed out that these measures are part of the Authority's exercise of its legal powers and the strengthening of the control aspects of passenger protection.
Ghanem called on citizens in case of fraud or manipulation by travel agencies to file a complaint and inform the General Civil Aviation Authority.
He pointed out that the Authority gave unauthorized travel agencies as well as those not bound by the regulations, conditions and standards of practising the profession a one-month opportunity from October to rectify their situation, unless their activity is discontinued.
